Applied Mathematics and Supplemental Maths Tests
An efficient and safe air traffic management depends on accurate calculations or at least considerate estimations performed by the controllers in charge. Problems of Applied Mathematics Test require test takers to perform job-related calculations and estimations. The tasks of this training module include problems of true airspeed and ground speed, time and distances, climb and descent rates and head-on and overtake situations in air traffic.

Supplemental Tests
  • Mental Arithmetic:  This test generates math problems presented visually or acoustically to be solved without the help of a calculator or paper and pencil.

  • Number Series:  This is a reasoning test that requires its takers to continue a numerical series which is subject to a logical continuation scheme.

  • Numerical Estimation:  This test requires its takes to make quick approximations to numerical estimations rather than performing accurate mental arithmetic.
